A WESTERN WIN – APPRENTICE COMPETITION
Congratulations are in order for Western States’ own Ryan Walker for being a 2017 Top Apprentice Skills winner at the Dealer Top Apprentice Competition.
The weeklong competition took place earlier this year at the Melbourne Technical Training Center in Australia and invited Caterpillar dealership participants from Australia, Indonesia, and the United States.
The competition tested their skills through a Knowledge and Skills Olympics, an extensive written exam, a formal presentation covering multiple topics, and a dreaded Q&A section. Ryan, a former SkillsUSA champion, was prepared for the challenge and walked away with the Top Apprentice Skills Olympics Award for acing the skills section.
