PUTTIN’ FOR PORK.

Golf is fun. Pork is delicious. So it stands to reason that if an opportunity to combine the two exists, said the opportunity must be seized with vigor. For Missoula, this cocktail of enjoyment is nothing new. They’ve been sitting the king of sports on the throne of delectable delights for two years, and they recently completed their latest annual Pigapalooza Golf Scramble.

The Pigapalooza event has been happening for the past six years. Employees raise money by selling raffle tickets to purchase a pig at the Western Montana Fair in support of local FFA and 4-H clubs. The raffle gives individuals the chance to win half a hog, cut and wrapped, for the freezer. Last year,  they decided to add golf to the fundraising mix and saw excellent results. This year, 20 participants from the Missoula store, including employees, friends, and family members, raised almost $700 towards the pig raffle from the golf portion alone. This year’s event featured nine-hole prizes thanks to the Parts department and Product Support Sales Rep, Larry Moritz.

Each member of the winning team, comprised of Steve Beitz (Parts Consultant), Jim Sund (Technician), Allan Loobey (Parts and Service Tech Consultant), and Rockie Howell was given additional entries to the raffle as part of their team prize. The fair is taking place this week, so folks in Missoula that purchased – and won – tickets are getting giddy with anticipation to see if they’ll get to bring home the bacon.
