A SUCCESSFUL HOLIDAY BIKE DRIVE

For the first three weeks of December our Fruitland, Meridian and Caldwell stores collected new and gently used bike donations for Boise Bicycle Project’s annual Holiday Kids Bike Giveaway.

The BBP event aims to give 500 children in the Treasure Valley their dream bikes, complete with streamers, spoke charms, and bells. Children are referred to BBP by local nonprofits, schools, social workers and community members.

Many Western States employees donated bikes or money to Boise Bicycle Project.

Many families struggle financially this time of year.  With the pandemic, the need for help in our community is even greater,” said Procurement Services Manager Heather Black, who coordinated the Western States drive, One of our main Western Cares focuses this year is on children in our community. Helping with the Holiday Kids Bike Drive aligns with that focus perfectly.

This isn’t the first time Western States has partnered with Boise Bicycle Project.  During the Spring Leadership Meeting in early Marchmanagers from each of our stores spent time cleaning, rebuilding and customizing bikes for BBP.

Thank you to everyone who donated to this year’s bike drive! Every donation can have a huge impact on a child in our community. To learn more about what BBP does, visit their website: https://www.boisebicycleproject.org/
