THERE’S SUCH A THING AS A FREE LUNCH

“They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch, but you just proved everyone wrong.”  That was the verdict pronounced by one customer who attended Lewiston’s recent customer appreciation lunch. Looking over the Caterpillar Machinery on display.

It was a picture-perfect spring day with bright sunshine and a clear blue sky.  The smell of hamburgers sizzling on the charcoal grill permeated the yard, producing anticipation from everyone’s stomachs.  Conversation punctuated by laughter drifted on the breeze from across the yard where onlookers heckled the latest operator of the popular remote-controlled CTL demo. Nearby, guests admired the 323, 325F, and 568LL machines towering above them on display, and gear heads talked shop with Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club members over a pair of restored D2 tractors.

No one was in a hurry to leave and guests lingered, catching up on the latest news while soaking in the sunshine.  As the lunch drew to a close and customers were reluctantly trickling back to their jobsites, one guest left offering a trusty piece of advice: when there are multiple flavors of cookies at a cookout, you should always try one of each.
