HORSES FOR HEALTHCARE WORKERS

The Mini Joys, an equine therapy organization, paid a special visit to the St. Luke’s hospital employees in Boise, Idaho this week to show the community’s appreciation for their hard work.

Along with masked, socially distanced community members, the horses were part of a cheering crowd lining the sidewalk from the hospital to the parking lot. Western States was proud to donate funds to provide children’s books about the miniature horses to healthcare workers and their families.

As hospital staff arrived and left during the evening shift change, they were greeted with miniature horses and signs thanking them for their heroic work during the pandemic.

“Many of the healthcare workers had tears welling up in their eyes. I know it really touched them,” said Laurie Bell, Mini Joys Executive Director, “Receiving the books for their kiddos will be a great way to remember the evening too.”
