PAVING TRAINING 2024

At the end of January, Western States Cat hosted our 2024 Paving Training event in Nampa, Idaho. From paving supervisors and operators to training instructors and crew members, we hosted a group of 112 attendees.

The two-day class featured “in-the-dirt” time on paving machines and a variety of classroom courses. Our attendees were able to learn new hands-on skills, with Cat and Weiler paving and compaction equipment. In addition, our trainings included topics critical to the safety and productivity of job sites.

Training Provided

The two-day event training included:

  • Paver Maintenance
  • Contractor Tips & Tricks
  • Safety on Jobsites
  • Trimble Setup & Troubleshooting
  • Road Widener Training
  • Hands on Paving Machine Training

Our instructors thoroughly taught the basics of paving as well as detailed information on how to manage a paving team. Attendees also participated in a new course titled “Leadership and Communication,” which focused on the effective and efficient communication that keeps paving job sites safe. Our ultimate goal is to support the future of the paving industry and continue to improve our curriculum as the industry changes.

Thank You!

Finally, we want to give a special shoutout to everyone who helped make Paving Training 2024 happen; the planners, attendees, presenters and trainers from across the region.  This event wouldn’t have been nearly as successful without the help and expertise of our dedicated team.
