It’s unusual for recent high school graduates to have a career path established just 15 months after graduation, but for students in the Western States Cat Technician Program, that’s exactly the case.

The Caterpillar-specific program takes place over the course of 12 months, culminating in a three-month internship at one of the 16 Western States locations. Students like Jeremy Perkins, featured in the American Graduate Getting to Work Initiative by Idaho Public Television, gain real-world experience learning and working on Cat machines before joining the Western States Equipment workforce full-time.
