THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT.

The men and women at Western States have big hearts.  Helping out people around us is ingrained in who we are, and it is particularly evident during the holidays.  Here are some of the ways our teams have lent a hand recently.

Hayden
Our Hayden team helped to sponsor a local Toys for Tots and Food Bank fundraiser.  Employees also sponsored five children from a local foster home.

Kalispell
The Kalispell store has been a long-time supporter of Barb’s Kids- Needy Children’s Fund, and this Christmas was no different.  The organization purchases winter clothing and other items for children in need.

Meridian
Meridian employees donated 114 toys and $1177 to Toys for Tots.  Employees organized various fundraisers to support the cause, including a Jeep rally, bake sale, and pancake breakfast.

Missoula
2017 marked the 10th year that the Missoula team contributed to the Salmon-Challis “Christmas for All” campaign.  Games, crafting supplies, and other gifts were donated to local families.  Missoula employees also purchased Christmas presents for an Opportunity Montana volunteer who helps out at the store each week.

Pendleton
Our Pendleton team adopted a local homeless high school student for the 2017-18 school year.  Employees committed to supporting the student throughout the year with donations including school supplies, food and toiletries, clothing, and Christmas presents (including a filled stocking).

Pocatello
Pocatello held a blood drive at the store.  Twenty two employees were able to donate, meeting the team’s goal of giving 15 units of blood.  Each unit of blood can potentially save three lives.

Spokane
The after-party is in Spokane. Our team there will be holding a mid-January event for employees and spouses to raise funds for the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.  A number of store departments have designed custom boards for a cornhole tournament, and the boards will be raffled off at the end of the event.
