TOYS FOR TOTS, PANCAKES FOR PERSONNEL
As the cold weather rolls in, there’s nothing quite like a hot pancake breakfast to kick off the holiday season. The Meridian Branch Leadership Team hosted a breakfast benefiting Toys for Tots on November 20, complete with orange juice, sausage and pancakes fresh off the grill. Employees each donated $5 or an unwrapped toy.
The Meridian BLT has been hosting a yearly pancake breakfast for the charity for the last few years, typically raising four or five hundred dollars. This year, the team raised $885 for Toys for Tots, and received a couple of toys for donation.
After surveying Meridian employees, the BLT found that most people wanted to support charities that benefited veterans and children. Because Toys for Tots is run through the US Marine Corps Reserve, the pancake breakfast helps both groups.
