As you have heard, Caterpillar has entered into a preliminary agreement for the sale of their purpose-built forestry business to Weiler Incorporated. The agreement includes Wheel Skidders, Track Feller Bunchers, Wheel Feller Bunchers, and Knuckleboom Loaders. The agreement also includes the manufacturing plant, warehouse, and demonstration and training centers as well as the Prentice parts distribution center. The Prentice brand and distribution agreements also fall under the purchase agreement.
Western States is committed to the forest industry and our customers who work there. We will continue to sell, service and provide parts for the current field population as well as future sales. We at Western States are committed to providing our valued customers a total solution for their forestry business needs. We currently have an outstanding relationship with Weiler on the products that we distribute and see this as an opportunity to expand on that relationship. With this acquisition, it is our belief that we will be able to provide superior products while being more nimble in the market place and meeting the ever-growing needs of you, our customers.
Western States Equipment Co. and Caterpillar will continue to sell and service our forestry excavators, wheel loaders, tractors, motor graders, hydraulic excavators and other support equipment.
